Hello, I hope you are well.

On the 19th September 2010 I will be leaving Land’s End to try and cycle to John O’Groats, sometimes referred to as “LEJOG”. See the route.

WHY AM I DOING THIS? As some of you know, I have been involved with Education For All Morocco since the beginning which helps to provide college education for girls from the rural High Atlas mountains in Morocco and due to the fantastic support we have been receiving EFA is now building its 3rd boarding house. As our capacity increases (approx 100 girls now) of course so do our running costs and as well as cycling one of the classic cycling routes in the UK , I want to try and achieve 2 things to help EFA meet its running costs.

  1. I want to raise £10,000 - the running costs of the 3rd house for 2010/2011 academic year. Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/efalejog.
  2. To raise awareness and so fill up our EFA charity cycle ride which starts on the last Saturday of March each year in Morocco (10 places remain for 2011 event). More details on the Bike Holiday page.

The ride will be 1600 km approximately and having donations will provide much needed motivation especially when the going gets tough which I am sure it will when it’s raining!! … as someone said to me … “Mike, why are you cycling through England and Scotland in September/October when you cycled through Spain in August last year?” Yes, being a bit mad helps … please help me achieve my targets.

ITS NOT JUST ABOUT THE BIKE OR MIKE ITS ABOUT PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIRLS IN MOROCCO. PLEASE HELP! DONATIONS CAN BE MADE AT www.justgiving.com/efalejog

Thank you everyone for your support, without which EFA would not be where it is now and you have already provided college education to many girls from the rural High Atlas that would otherwise not have had the life changing gift of education. More information about the work of EFA latest newsletter.

Thank you personally and from all at EFA,

Mike McHugo
